Solomon

Image
This image always takes me straight to the words Jesus speaks in Luke 12:27  “Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labour or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendour  was dressed like one of these. You can't see very well in the photograph but the background for the flowers is a gold acrylic paint which give the whole picture a gentle glow.  There is a suggestion of the autumn as the petals are falling, but the flowers are still blooming and beautiful.  Whilst they might be transitory and passing God takes immense care with each one. The canvas is 30x30cm and is unframed

The Man Who Built His House Upon a Rock

Image
This is an image which came to me one Sunday in the middle of worship.  I saw it exactly like this and I knew I had to go straight home and paint it.  When I shared the image on Facebook a friend immediately said that it spoke to her and she asked if she could buy it.  It was such a strong image in my mind that I decided Id paint it again - that's the great thing about prophetic art. It doesn't have to be 'original' ( after all there is nothing new under the sun)  it just has to speak a word to the viewer.  And the word it speaks can be different for each person, or indeed for each viewing. This framed acrylic ( no glass) is 40x51cm

This painting is one I have painted several times in different sizes for different people.  I love the simplicity of it - its just an old key hanging on a piece of string from a nail in a wall.  But to me, keys have significance.  Keys open things and lock things up.  If there is only one key to a door then only the keyholder can have access.  When I look at this I'm reminded of the verses in Matthew 16:19   I will give you the keys  of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”      I also think of   Revelation 3:8  “I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name.     I love the fact that God doesn't require us to be super spiritual and have everything together before He opens the next door.  He jus...
